Blake Wilbur Drive Pedestrian Detour – Update

August 22nd, 2012

As a result of employee feedback regarding the pedestrian detour on Blake Wilbur Drive, we have enlisted additional resources to better facilitate the flow of pedestrian traffic between North Pasteur Drive and Blake Wilbur Clinic during construction.

Beginning this morning, August 22, a temporary pedestrian bypass route will be open to allow pedestrian traffic through the active construction zone until the utility work on North Pasteur Drive is completed at the end of September. This pedestrian bypass route is subject to change and intermittent closures due to construction activities.

Please note that during this time, ADA access will remain via the original pedestrian detour indicated on the map below in blue.

If you use these sidewalks to navigate the main campus, please follow alternative pedestrian routes and only cross at the crosswalks. Please remain mindful that patients and visitors may need additional assistance to navigate the way-finding changes during construction. Way-finding signage will be in place to direct staff and visitors during this time.

Kaplan Drive will remain open as needed to facilitate traffic out of Parking Structure 3 during the construction on North Pasteur Drive.

Thank you for your cooperation and patience as we work to build the future of Stanford Hospital.

If you have any questions regarding construction activity, please direct questions to hospitalrebuild@stanfordmed.org or call the 24-Hour Construction Hotline at (650) 701-SUMC (7862).
