Project Overview

From its beginning, Stanford University School of Medicine has been recognized as a place where some of the world’s most renowned scientists collaborate to solve the challenges of health care and prepare promising students and trainees as tomorrow’s leaders in medicine. The school’s proximity to Stanford Health Care and Lucile Packard Children’s Hospital Stanford allows the faculty’s researchers and physicians to closely collaborate as they seek to turn laboratory discoveries into clinical therapies that improve the quality of life for patients in the community and around the world.

The School of Medicine is preparing to lead the biomedical revolution by introducing new laboratories and places for teaching and learning that promote collaboration among scientists and clinicians with a broad range of expertise. Research facilities will be designed for efficiency and accessibility and will be adaptable enough to accommodate tomorrow’s equipment and technologies.

Renovations of existing buildings and new construction will enhance the school’s ability to attract top medical and graduate students, postdoctoral scholars and residents who will develop new scientific insights and improve the diagnosis, treatment and prevention of disease.
